The Southern SeaQuestrians are a nonprofit scuba diving club formed in 2013 in the Atlanta area. We are a charter club under the National Association of Black Scuba divers. Our mission is to introduce people to the sport of scuba diving through education, training, and ocean conservation. We provide a variety of diving opportunities through the “Discover Scuba” experience, diver education & training classes and club scuba diving trips. Our membership includes non-divers, experienced divers and dive professionals.
The Southern SeaQuestrians are proud to offer additional services and training opportunities that include: providing beginner/advanced swimming lessons, CPR/First Aid certifications, and Diver Emergency Management.
Mission Statement: We lead by example by taking an active role in the education of divers, and non-divers to foster a direct influence in increasing the roles of the African American presence in marine sciences, and ecology; through our efforts, we aspire to draw awareness of our impact and responsibilities for all marine environments including seas, oceans, lakes, rivers, and streams.
The Southern SeaQuestrians is not a social club, but a group of dynamic, and innovative people who are dedicated to the sport of SCUBA Diving. Created in January of 2013, this entity was built from the desire of 6 unique individuals who brought various skillsets, ideas, and information; this is the foundation from which SSQ has built on in its first year. This foundation provides the fundamental platform to foster an environment of progress, and exploration in the years to come. SSQ is not statically tied to any status quo, and will continue to drive dive training, dive education, and dive awareness.
Vision Statement: We are the Southern SeaQuestrians whose mission is to create proficient, safe, and progressive divers through diver education, and dive training while promoting conservation.
